Spanish Learning and Volunteer Program in Buenos Aires

Volunteering in Buenos Aires is a great way to give back to a community, help others, and also help you in your future endeavors. Whether you wish to work with kids or volunteer helping the poor here are a couple key points to keep in mind when picking a volunteer program abroad.

  1. Research the causes or issues important to you. Look for a group or organization that works for issues which you feel strongly about. The more involved you are in the issue the better. There is a slot of information available on the internet, so research and find a cause that you wish to work for then research further into the different organizations in the area and see which one might be best for you.
  2. Consider the skills you have to offer. If  you enjoy outdoor work, have a knack for teaching, or just enjoy interacting with people, you may want to look for volunteer work that would incorporate these aspects of your personality.
  3. Would you like to learn something new? Perhaps you would like to learn a new skill or gain exposure to a new situation. Consider seeking a volunteer opportunity where you'll learn something new. For example, volunteering to work on a website for a Spanish school will improve your writing and editing abilities - skills that may help you in your career.
  4. Combine your goals. Look for volunteer opportunities that will also help you achieve your other goals for your life. For example, if you want to lose a few extra pounds, pick an active volunteer opportunity, such as cleaning a park or working with kids.

It is also a great idea to combine your volunteer program with Spanish immersion courses in Buenos Aires. Our Spanish immersion courses here at our Spanish school in Buenos  Aires are an intensive 10 hour per week course taught in communicative Spanish by native Spanish teachers from  Buenos Aires, Argentina, Spain and/or Latin America armed with a vast experience on teaching the Spanish language to foreign students (non-native Spanish speakers). All our Spanish immersion courses at Íbero will enable the student to achieve a level defined as ¨independent user¨ by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Combine Your Goals: Spanish Course and Volunteer Teaching in Buenos Aires with Ibero Spanish School

For those seeking to make a significant impact while advancing their language skills, Ibero Spanish School, in collaboration with the Teach Buenos Aires program, offers a comprehensive opportunity for a Spanish Course and Volunteer Teaching in Buenos Aires. This program provides a structured approach, blending practical English language teaching experience with professional Spanish language instruction to maximize personal and professional growth.

The Teach Buenos Aires Volunteer Program: Empowering Through English

Teach Buenos Aires is dedicated to empowering people of all ages from vulnerable communities across Buenos Aires. Its mission is to provide quality English education to open doors to new opportunities. Volunteers are at the heart of this mission. In the afternoons, they teach English classes across various English language schools in Buenos Aires, becoming mentors who build student confidence and skills. Responsibilities include assisting teachers in classrooms (in-person and online) for weekly English lessons primarily for children and low-income communities (15 hours per week), teaching your own English classes, and assisting Community English Volunteer projects at nearby community centers. You'll also provide English learning activities for children at local schools.

This program seeks native or fluent English speakers (21-40 years old) with a 2-month commitment. A TEFL, CELTA, teaching degree, or similar certification is required, and a laptop is compulsory for online classes. This is a chance to gain valuable, hands-on teaching experience in both in-person and online settings, enhance your resume with international teaching experience, and directly contribute to local educational efforts.

Your Spanish Course: Immersion at Ibero Spanish School

A core component of this experience is the Spanish Course provided by Ibero Spanish School. While volunteering to teach English, you'll also learn Spanish (20 hours per week) during your stay. These small-group Spanish classes are offered at a reasonable additional cost, providing excellent value and significantly enhancing your experience. Spanish classes are essential for communicating effectively, equipping you to better understand your students and fully engage in the local culture.

Ibero Spanish School has 16 years of experience in the language school market in Argentina. Our teachers are all native Spanish speakers, bilinguals, and university certified as instructors of Spanish as a foreign language. We provide our own published Spanish course books (144 pages) for free with your Spanish course. Our Spanish teaching methods emphasize conversation and practice with local people, using a variety of resources including authentic texts, videos, movies, songs, and games, with a focus on the language and culture of Buenos Aires and Argentina. Immersion is key; you are exposed to Spanish spoken by native speakers from the beginning, improving listening skills. Ibero offers Spanish classes for all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced students, covering various needs like Survival Spanish, Spanish for University students, and Spanish for professionals.
