Spanish and TEFL courses in Buenos Aires

Teach English Abroad

Our TEFL and Spanish program in Buenos Aires has well-trained, native instructors with bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees in fields such as linguistics and Spanish literature.  Armed with extensive experience and training, they know how to teach Spanish to non-native speakers from all cultural backgrounds and countries.  They have the knowledge and resources to both challenge advanced learners and work patiently with beginners.

Íbero Spanish School has developed its own line of educational textbooks that align perfectly with the school’s eight levels.  The books come from years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language and have proven their worth via that thousands of students who have become fluent using them.

Spanish is a major world language spoken by around 450 million people. Combining Spanish with TEFL gives you the chance to live and work in a multitude of countries around the world teaching English as a foreign language.

Teaching English in Buenos Aires

This course is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect new developments and the requirements of the profession and of employers. The following represents some of the subjects that currently make up the course. You will develop your proficiency in Spanish through the study of Spanish culture. You will also learn about teaching English and have the opportunity to teach learners as part of your regular coursework.

Argentina has become the top destination in Latin America and the world for teaching English abroad.  English teachers here typically find work in March or early April and then again in August. English teachers in Argentina will be expected to interview in person once they arrive in Buenos Aires, and they will also be responsible for their airfare, as well as housing.  Many English teachers live in apartments recently vacated by previous teachers, and many room with their coworkers.

Buenos Aires continues to be one of our most popular TEFL course locations—and there’s no lack of reasons why. The city is renowned internationally for world-class soccer teams, thriving tango culture, scrumptious cuisine (especially beef), and, more recently, for amazingly affordable prices.

I think the TEFL course will definitely help me in the future. If I just took an online class I would not feel as prepared as I do right now. The teaching practice sessions were super helpful. The experience I got through the sessions was crucial. Logan Kurtz, USA
